A blog, short for "weblog," is an online platform where individuals, groups, or organisations share regularly updated content, known as blog posts, on specific topics. The content is displayed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent posts appearing first, and is typically written in an informal, conversational tone.
Features of blogs:

▪ Revealing the newest content from the last updated to the oldest updated
▪ open for public (unless the author wants otherwise)
▪ usually it has a simple number of authors or managers that can edit or publish on it
TYPES OF BLOGS:
▪ Personal blog: This type of blog functions like an online diary, where the blogger shares personal thoughts and experiences, without necessarily trying to reach a specific audience or promote a product. Personal blogs often cover a wide range of topics, such as family events, self-reflection, and work-related projects.
▪ Micro blog: This type of blog is known for its very short posts, typically limited to 140 characters. It is often referred to as microblogging, with platforms like Twitter being prime examples.
▪ News and views blog: This blog type focuses on the latest updates and new releases in a specific industry. Unlike other blogs, news blogs usually exclude personal opinions or content, offering straightforward, factual information.

Authors can organise a page in any way they choose.
It tracks all entries and maintains a document history.
Content can be easily edited through a web browser.

Wikis | Blogs |
A collaborative platform where multiple users can add, modify, and publish content freely. | It usually has a single author who can publish, modify or edit the posts. |
Organized by topics or categories. | Presented in reverse chronological order, showing the newest updated post. |
Focuses on factual information and collective knowledge. | Often includes personal opinions and commentary. |
Definition: A moderated forum is an online discussion platform where all posts are reviewed by an administrator before they are published.
User Preference:
Many users prefer moderated forums over unmoderated ones because:
Moderators can prevent spam.
They can filter out inappropriate, rude, or offensive posts.
Moderators help maintain focus on the main topic of discussion.
Comparison to the Internet:
The internet itself functions as a large unmoderated forum.
No one "owns" the internet, and it lacks centralised policing.
Social Forums and Networking Groups:
Most social forums or networking groups establish rules or protocols.
Members are expected to adhere to these guidelines, or they risk being deleted from the group.
